Brandon Barnett

Brandon Barnett is an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, where he began his independent career in 2021. His group's work spans inorganic, biomimetic, and materials chemistry, and was recognized with a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation in 2024. Before Rochester, Brandon received his PhD with Josh Figueroa at UC San Diego studying organometallic chemistry, and performed postdoctoral work with Jeff Long at UC Berkeley investigating metal–organic frameworks for hydrocarbon separations and hydrogen storage.
