Yifan Wang 21st International Conference on Biological Inorganic Chemistry 2025

Yifan Wang

I am an Assistant Professor of Bioinorganic Chemistry at the University of Georgia, where I have been leading a research group since 2021. I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Texas at San Antonio under the mentorship of Dr. Aimin Liu. My research focuses on metalloenzymes, particularly heme and non-heme mononuclear iron-dependent oxygenases involved in natural product biosynthesis and primary metabolism. To investigate their catalytic mechanisms and structure-function relationships, my group employs a diverse array of biophysical and biochemical techniques, including X-ray crystallography, EPR spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy, and enzyme kinetics.
