Philip A Ash
Philip Ash is a Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Leicester, UK. Philip obtained a PhD at the University of Durham, UK, with Colin Bain, before transitioning to a bioinorganic postdoctoral research position with Kylie Vincent (Oxford, UK). His research interests concern biological and bio-inspired redox chemistry, particularly in systems relevant to green energy technologies. Philip has developed a number of combined in-situ and in-operando spectroscopic and electrochemical methodologies for studying redox proteins under static and catalytic conditions. Using ultrafast spectroscopic methods in combination with structural and computational studies, he aims to unravel the intricate interplay between redox properties and protein dynamics exploited by nature's catalysts.
