Yoshiaki Furukawa
Yoshiaki Furukawa is a Professor at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in 2002 from Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Isao Morishima. He conducted postdoctoral research at Northwestern University (USA) with Prof. Thomas O’Halloran, where he investigated the mechanisms of copper chaperones, and at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute (Japan) with Dr. Nobuyuki Nukina, where he studied protein misfolding in neurodegenerative diseases. His current research focuses on the folding and misfolding of metalloproteins and their roles in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders.
