Breann L Brown 21st International Conference on Biological Inorganic Chemistry 2025

Breann L Brown

Dr. Brown is currently an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where her lab uses structural biology and enzymology to understand mechanisms of macromolecular assembly necessary for mitochondrial signaling and metabolism. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Duke University. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology from Brown University working with Prof. Rebecca Page where she investigated protein pairs that play a role in bacterial multidrug tolerance and chronic biofilm infections. She then completed her postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the laboratory of Prof. Tania A. Baker where she used X-ray crystallography and biochemical techniques to study mechanisms of protein assembly in both bacteria and human metabolic systems.
